THE INSPIRATION

A friend is someone we can trust with our heart.
A friend is someone who will tell us the truth.

What is a friend?  I imagine your answer will be different from mine and different from hers and his and different from everyone else's answer.  

What is a friend?

A friend is a confidante.  A friend is a soft pillow.  A friend is an umbrella.  A friend is a pair of eyeglasses.  A friend lets you ride in the passenger's seat when you're too tired to drive.  A friend encourages you to smell roses.  A friend takes a walk with you in your garden.  A friend is a second opinion.  A friend cheers you back to a standing position.  A friend gives without expecting something in return.  A friend honors your wrinkles.  A friend laughs at your jokes.  A friend goes shopping with you and carries your pocketbook.  A friend is a band aid.  A friend is a cool glass of water.  A friend is always home at the other end of the phone.

These are the things that friendship is made from.  

At the end of each day, she goes home and leaves you more than you were at the start of the day.

Friendship

This image is a tribute to friends and friendships. I am reminded of the richness of my life each day. Not a day goes by without a friendly visit--a phone call, a note, a package or an e-mail from a friend.

Though years pass without communication, when friends connect again, it's magical. Familiar voices sing, hearts dance and the magic of friendship happens.

Friends make life's journey more exciting.
Friends listen without judgment.
Friends guide gently.
Friends speak the truth.
Friends hold your heart.
